NRHA Competition Championship
NRHA competition is always the premiere place to show off your Morgan reiners! It is not easy and requires hard work, dedication and a true love of the sport to compete against the best of the best in open competition. For those doing just that, NMRHA has the NRHA Competition Championship Awards program to reward their efforts. Competing for the championship awards is done in the form of earning points acquired at NRHA sanctioned reinings (excluding Morgan World Show) based on your placing and number of entries. There are four divisions, Open, Non Pro, Rookie and Youth. The reiners with the most points at year end garner the Championships!
We offer awards for Non Sanctioned classes at sanctioned NRHA shows (like men’s, geldings, green etc). Divisions in the Non Sanctioned section are Open, Non Pro, Rookie and Green Rider. Points are earned in your division only (ie. A Non Pro showing in a gelding class would have their points count for the Non Pro award, an Open rider showing in a gelding class would have their points count for the Open award etc).
Our definition of a green rider will honor all affiliate definitions of green rider. .If you are eligible for the class at the show then we will allow their points for the green division. Also would be included classes at Non Sanctioned shows but put on by an NRHA affiliate using NRHA rules etc. (Some NRHA affiliates put on Jackpot non NRHA shows for their membership.
Can you cross enter divisions in the Non Sanctioned class competition? Yes, BUT your results from one show cannot "cross enter" ie. Show in Ladies and green horse at same show. The total points will either count as Non-Pro or Open. Not Open for the Ladies class and Non-Pro for the green horse class. This rule will only apply to the Nonsanctioned classes.
Points follow the horse, If Open rider shows the horse then horse gets Open points. If Non-Pro rider shows a horse in an Open class, - Then Division (Open or Non-Pro) for points to be applied must be declared for each Open class on results form. BUT If classes ran concurrently, then only 1 division to be used for those concurrent classes ie. A non-pro shows in Novice Horse Open and NH Non-Pro. Points can only count for Open or Non-Pro division Not Both. Or Non-Pro shows in INT Open and LT Open. Then points can be used in either Open or Non-Pro NOT - INT O Used for Non-Pro and LO Used for Open, ect.
Entry fee is only $25 per horse per year payable before your first reining. For entry specifics, see NRHA flyer under "forms".
